Kids with Cancer Society
Since 2010 General Recycling Industries has proudly partnered with the Kids with Cancer Society to provide services to families such as the Liedtke’s. Along with committed customers, General Recycling has contributed over $3.25 million dollars to the Kids with Cancer Society to bring hope now, and for the future.
Levi Liedtke's Cancer Story
Levi was diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis in September 2019, a few weeks after his second birthday. It has been three years of battling the disease and Levi has displayed tremendous courage, tenacity, resilience and strength throughout the medical process.
Medically, Levi has endured a 6 hour neurosurgery where his primary tumour was taken out and replaced with a plastic skull. Additionally, he has encountered 20 rounds of chemotherapy, 365 days of inhibitor treatment, 35 PET scans, and over 100 IV accesses, and one too many syringes of medication to count. His resilience is indescribable and through his journey he has continued to be kind, compassionate, fun, full of energy, a jokester, cuddle monkey and being the intelligent child he is.
Levi has a sister named Teya, a brother named Parker and parents, Bryce and Rebecca. Together they have continued to face the adversity thrown their way with smiles, laughs and kindness, knowing that together they are a strong team. Additionally the family tries to give back to the community and through organizations like KWCS through volunteering and fundraising.
